Janet Goeske Foundation is committed to enriching the quality of life of those 50 & older in the community we serve while maintaining the highest level of advocacy and providing health & wellness programs.
We strive to be the trusted voice and advocate for those we serve.
Janet Goeske, our founder, fought to improve the lives of seniors for almost eight decades. Her tireless efforts led to many accolades over the years including the incorporation and establishment of the Janet Goeske Foundation (JGF). Her vision, and now legacy, was to develop a Center specific to meeting the needs of our senior community members. Through her tenacity the Janet Goeske Senior Center was dedicated on May 18, 1984.
JGF continues its founder’s tradition of service to the local senior community with a whole-person-centered approach to health and wellness – including physical, mental, social and emotional well being. Over the past 33 years “The Center” has more than doubled in size (from 12,000 to 25,000 sqft), delivers over 160 weekly programs/activities/events, and serves over 23,000 patron visits per month.
With seniors identified as the fastest growing demographic of society, it is essential that JGF prepare now to serve the growing senior population long-term. With a vision to become the preeminent non-profit senior advocacy group and assistance provider, we plan to increase advocacy for seniors, as well as improve and expand access to programs, services, and resources. We are poised to produce a much greater impact on seniors through enhanced efforts of development and outreach outside the traditional bricks-and-mortar of “The Center”.
